Goodbye

Today was the last time I walked down Charles Street.
I'm sad to leave Baltimore, but I'm also excited to see my family & spend some time with them before we go home. & I miss my house so bad. I can't wait to sleep in my bed, cook in my kitchen, sit on my couch & watch my tv...

This has been a great experience. I'm going to miss the big city & walking everywhere. Well, only when the weather is nice. I really enjoyed going grocery shopping & walking home. I know it sounds weird. But I loved walking home with bags full of groceries.

I'm scared of flying... This is a new thing. I wasn't scared of flying until I started reading nienie's blog. I don't want to crash & burn... So I have my sleeping pills ready & I will be out cold tomorrow at 3:30 pm.

I suck at packing. I get bored & it takes me days to pack a suitcase. But Zach is so good at packing. He gets everything ready & cleans the house. I try my best. But even if I try really hard I don't get anything done. I'm lucky I have him. He's a hard worker & gets things done just like his dad.

Well, tomorrow at this time I will be in Vegas! Hopefully eating Cafe Rio. Zach & I have been craving Cafe Rio for the past 2 months. I can't wait to have a tostada!!!

Goodbye Baltimore.... I will miss you...

Lets go Orioles!

Jeremy Guthrie is in our ward. His wife is really sweet. She was the first person to talk to me. She has been so nice to me these three months. She always makes sure I'm not by myself during relief society. She always sits next to me. Anyways, Jeremy got us tickets for last night's game. And it was AWESOME! I take back all the bad things I have ever said about baseball. I loved it. It was so much fun and relaxing at the same time. Balls fly all over the place. A guy got hit by one right in the face. The doctors took him right at the beginning of the game. Poor guy. A ball almost hit me. I ran and screamed like the girl I am. I wasn't embarrassed because 3 other girls did the same thing... The ball hit my seat so hard. I was glad I moved. Right after that happened we were on the big screen.

It took us a little while to figure out where to go when we got there and we didn't have time to talk to Jeremy. We just thanked him for the tickets. He told us to go to the dugout  after the game to talk to him.

I felt so bad because when we went to talk to him he was bombarded by like twenty kids asking for his autograph. The whole time he was talking to us and signing balls, shirts and hats. He took a picture with us. A little girl ask to take a picture with him, but he was too busy talking to Zach lol. None of the other players stayed to talk to people. We said bye to him and a second later I realized I had forgotten to ask for his autograph, I looked back and he was gone. It was so nice of him to give us tickets and stay after the game to talk to us, even if it meant kids touching him and yelling at him for an autograph. I felt pretty special :)

Yesterday I realized I love sports. Just live sports though.. I hate watching baseball and basketball on tv. But I love going to the UNLV basketball games. I want to move to a state where they have basketball, football and baseball and get season tickets to all of them. Actually, I want to move to Vegas and get UNLV basketball season tickets, but what are the chances of us moving back to Vegas soon and having enough money to buy season tickets ... Not good, but I can dream.

And The Countdown Begins

We are flying to Vegas in 11 days.
This has been a great experience.
I love the East Coast & I would move anywhere except for Baltimore in a heart beat.

I fell in love with this city the first time I walked through it.
I used to go for walks to the harbor when I was bored. Then, it got way too hot & humid to go outside, so I spent most of my days inside. & when the weather cooled down a little I was way too scared to leave my house. It's INSANE how many murders happen here. It seems like 5 a day. Even in the nice areas like ours. Like a month ago they were looking for a guy that would follow girls to their houses & rape them & then there was a shooting inside the Cheese Cake Factory in the harbor. Now, Zach & I make sure we are home before it gets dark. Ambulances are everywhere. You hear them all day long as well as cop helicopters. It sounds like I'm exaggerating, but the sad thing is that I'm not. I don't ever watch the news because I get so scared. I didn't  want to leave when we first got here, but I think I'm ready to drive & feel safe in Logan.

 Our street

But overall our summer has been amazing! I love walking to places. Except when it's too hot. I love it that Zach was able to get an great internship & work with great people.

I really love living in different places. I hate moving & packing up my house twice in 3 months. This time was great. I just packed my suitcases. I would do this again every year. I love having something to look forward to at the begging of the year when we find out where we are going for the summer. And even though I'm ready to go home right now (it's only because the crime & the apartment's wall where we are staying at are soaked with water from the AC & I'm pretty sure mold is going to start growing pretty soon like it is in the bathroom) I would love to do this again.

I wish I could take the Harbor with me....

I took this picture at the art fair last weekend

I love...
Vegetables
Art Fairs
Watermelon
Authentic Indian food
Farms Market
The Harbor
Big Cities

I'm not a big fan of...
The mold growing on our bedroom wall & bathroom ceiling
The stinky building
The heat
Humidity

This is a great combination for an interesting fun summer.

Update

My favorite thing about Baltimore is that I live really close the the harbor. Yesterday we went to dinner to a labenese place that was gross! But... It was close to the harbor, so I guess that makes it better...

Our local super market is pretty expensive... I don't know if it's because we live down town or if it's just that everything is more expensive back east... or... maybe Logan is really cheap. I can buy a dozen of eggs for .99 cents & here they are 3 dollars... Anyways, we went grocery shopping to Whole Foods, believe it or not it's cheaper than the other store. We walked 2 miles to get there, but I didn't care at all because it was by the harbor. I'm not sure what it is about that place that I love.. maybe the shopping. I love going to Urban Outfitters to look around. I asked for an application so I can get a job & get 40% off, but they are not hiring... I'm also getting a little bored of just staying at home all day, so a job would be awesome!

I made a little purse. I have a lot of time in my hands & I needed a little purse because the one  I brought is too big & heavy. This one is perfect to put my keys, card & cell phone.

Home

We finally moved into our apartment. Zach started work this week, & so far he loves it.
He gets a little giddy when he walks into the hospital. I'm sure he dreams about him going to that school & working at that hospital lol...(He's going to kill me when he reads this).

I just realized I'm probably the dumbest person in this building... You have to be a Hopkins student to live here. ( Yes, we cheated, but we can since we subleased...)

I really like the apartment. It has windows all over the place. The only bad thing is that we are right next to an alley & the garbage man scares me every morning at 6. & we live close to Peabody (Johns Hopkins music school) so we have the pleasure to listen to bands playing all day.

I unpacked my sewing machine today & made a little scripture cover.

News!

Today we got an email confirming that we will be going to Baltimore this summer. Zach got a job at  Johns Hopkins University. We are moving to Baltimore in May. This is a great opportunity for Zach. We are so excited! We think this is going to be a great experience. I have always wanted to live in the East coast. Who knows... Maybe we'll end up loving it & go to medical school there. jk :)
