Anyone who watched opening weekend in the NFL had to notice one thing. The absolute dominance by the greatest NFL franchise in the league's history. The Buffalo Bills now have the team they need to completely dominate the next decade of the sport. Sadly Tom Brady is out for the season and the Bills will easily walk into the playoffs by clinching the AFC East, most likely going 6-0 in conference play. It’s sad because we all would have loved to see the rising Bills beat a healthy Patriots team. Now when the Bills man handle the Patriots there will only be doubters saying, "Only if Brady was playing". But no, if Brady were to play them twice this year he would only be sad watching Trent Edwards take his spot as the best clutch quarterback to play the game.
Those who watched the Bills easily put to waste the Seattle Seahawks said that they were reminded of NFL greats. Nobody doubts that Trent Edwards has an incredibly bright future ahead of him. Peyton Manning and Donovan McNabb were seen watching tapes of Edwards early Monday Morning. Peyton Manning said, "His play reminds me of my childhood hero, Joe Montana. He showed more poise in the pocket than any active quarterbacks. We haven't seen a player like him in a long time. He is going to be something special in the years to come." Tom Brady made no comments but sources say that he added Edwards as a friend on facebook and even poked him as a sign of approval. No doubt about it Brady was impressed. As he waited for his MRI results Dr. Brown said that he constantly mentioned how good Edwards looked in his uniform.
As for the rest of the team. Lee Evans looked much better than a young Jerry Rice, Marshawn Lynch made Emmitt Smith's greatest plays look dull, Terrence McGee makes Champ Baily look slow and Roscoe Parrish was simply electrifying. This year looks to be the Bills year. Michael Phelps, an avid Ravens fan and two-time Olympian, even said that the Bills will make his 8 gold medals look like nothing and a dynasty has begun in Buffalo. The rest of the NFL should just sit back and watch as the Bills do what the Patriots couldn't. This appears to be the best chance a team has to go undefeated and win the Super bowl. Don Schula has even acknowledged the high probability that the Bills do what his '72 Dolphins did.
